The two incumbents have been re-elected to the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Council, with Vice Chairman Kenneth M. Reels also winning re-election to the vice chairman's seat.
Vice Chairman Reels and Councilman Richard E. Sebastian were the top two winners in the Tribal Nation's general election Nov. 6, which once again marked a high turnout of Tribal citizen voters, who came to vote at the Community Center on the Mashantucket Pequot Reservation. The vice chairman was the top vote-getter in the first, general election of the day.
A total of eight candidates were on the ballot in the general election, competing for two seats of three years' duration each. The Council members elected will be inaugurated in early January in a ceremony usually conducted in the Gathering Space of the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center.
In their comments after the vote, both Vice Chairman Reels and Councilman Sebastian made community-unifying comments for the Tribal Nation and for the region. (More)
