Vagina Monologues reading benefits local women's center

On March 8th, Tribal Councilor Charlene Jones, in conjunction with the Foxwoods Diversity Committee presented a production of Eve Ensler's award-winning play The Vagina Monologues at the Fox Theatre. The production was part of the national V-Day 2008 Campaign and in celebration of International Women's Day, which was also March 8. All of the proceeds raised from the event were donated to the Women's Center of Southeastern Connecticut, which totaled over $6,000.

The 7th annual Timber Spears Memorial Golf Outing will be held Tuesday, May 13 at the spectacular Lake of Isles golf course. Golfing great Jim Thorpe and baseball legend Luis Tiant will serve as celebrity hosts of the event.
The Timber Spears Memorial Golf Outing is held in memory of a 3-year-old Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation member who died in August 2001. Timber Spears was born with a primary immune deficiency. His grandmother, Ms. Phyllis M. Waite, proposed the golf outing to encourage research into the condition.
The fundraising efforts from the past six events helped establish the Timber Spears Endowment Fund at Yale. The endowment fund is held in perpetuity and supports ongoing research efforts and clinical care for Yale Pediatric Immunology. As the matriarch and a
