MGM Grand at Foxwoods counting down to grand May opening

Spring is here, and color and beauty are sweeping back into Connecticut by the day. Designed to "bring the outdoors in," the almost-ready MGM Grand at Foxwoods will reflect that beauty through its exterior wall of windows when it opens on May 17.

Lake of Isles opens for the season with special offers

The 2008 golf season is underway at Lake of Isles. The award winning North and South courses opened April 1 and course conditions are getting better everyday. Lake of Isles will be running a golf promotion on the North Course during the month of April. Golfers can get two rounds of golf in for the price of one. The early season rate is $125 per person and golfers who play one round in April will get a complimentary second round to be used during the month. The all-inclusive golf fee includes 18 holes with a cart, range balls, yardage book, bag tag, divot tool, refreshments and snacks.

Foxwoods Resort Casino reports February slot win of $57.5 million
Foxwoods Resort Casino reported to the state Division of Special Revenue a net slot win of $57.5 million for February, a $4.3 million or 7 percent decrease from February 2007.
The casino's owners, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, also reported a $14.4 million contribution to the State of Connecticut for February, 2008, increasing to $2.620 billion the amount given to the State since January 1993, when slot machines were introduced at Foxwoods.
"The slowing economy and the public's decrease in discretionary spending, coupled with the increased competition in the marketplace and inclement weather patterns in the Northeast compared to last year, negatively impacted our slot revenue for the month," said Barry Cregan (More)
